I wanted to go to Tekapo Lake, which is 250km from Christchurch.
But it rained heavily in the morning. I thought I would have to give up my plan.
I had to take back the motorcycle to the rental shop by 5 pm. I had to leave from wherever I was by 12 pm.
The weather forecast said it would rain all day long, but the rain stopped suddenly and blue skies appeared,
while I was drinking a cup of coffee in Rakaia 60 km from Christchurch.
It was a miracle.
Left: The sun appeared when I reached the Rangitata
which was the cross road of Route 1 to Timaru and Route 79 to Takapo Lake.I headed for Lake Tekapo.
Right: In Fairlie at this point I took Route 8 leading to Lake Tekapo.
Another 43km to go.The watch said 11:30.
A row housed and streets in Geraldin which is between Rangitata and Fairlie.
This town is very country乮in the wop-wops), but the atmosphere of the place was very sophisticated!
This town was the first place that I wanted to live in the places out of all the places I visited in this tour.
The road between Geraldine to Fairlie was the only one winding road.
The scenery there possesses the greatest beauty.
