On the day, in the rain, my senior Mr. Nakajima and I headed for Kaikoura, which is 150km away from Christchurch.
Left; We dropped in at the Cafe for warmth in Leithfield which was 20km out of Christchurch.
Right: At the cafe at Domett, which is 80km out of Christchurch. They served excellent sandwiches!
Taken on self timer with Mr. Nakajima in front of the cafe in Domett.
The house on the right is a petrol station in Cheviot 90km from Christchurch
Adrian recommended us the nice cafe in Kaikoura, but rain prevented us from going there.
We went to see the rough sea at Gore bay 18km away from Cheviot.
I was deeply impressed by the wonderful nature, again!
We went to a winery in Waipara on our way back, since we couldn't go to the cafe in Kaikaura that Adrian spoke of.
The name of the winery was Waipara Spring.
After a wee taste test, I ordered the 2003 red, Mr. Nakajima ordered the 2004 rose wine.
The price was about $12 each including cheese.
The fire warmed us up and I appreciated it.
We dried our wet clothes and gloves in front of the fireplace. The name of the sleeping dog is John-T.
I didn't intend to stand behind the counter of the bar, but the lady in the shop convinced me so to have my picture taken.
I accepted her kind offer.
The mileage on this day was about 250km.
